Kelli L. Mitchell, Founding Partner

For more than a decade, Kelli L. Mitchell has built a reputation throughout Tampa Bay as a trusted advocate and guide in family law. Licensed to practice in the State of Florida, Kelli dedicates her work to helping individuals and families navigate personal injury matters and all aspects of marital and family law—including dissolution of marriage, custody and timesharing, alimony, equitable distribution, paternity, post-judgment modification and enforcement, collaborative divorce, and the drafting of marital settlement, prenuptial, and postnuptial agreements. She also provides family law mediation services for both represented and pro se clients.

A Tampa Bay resident for over 30 years, Kelli graduated from the University of South Florida before earning her J.D. from Stetson University College of Law. During law school, she served as a Certified Legal Intern with the Pinellas County State Attorney’s Office, gaining courtroom experience primarily in Dependency Court. After graduation, she began her career at a prestigious Tampa family law firm, where she handled high-net-worth and high-conflict litigation and developed advanced skill in complex family matters.

In 2013, she completed advanced collaborative law training, expanding her ability to offer clients an alternative to traditional litigation. By 2015, Kelli opened her own practice—Kelli L. Mitchell PA—continuing her commitment to excellence, integrity, and client-focused representation. In addition to family law, she expanded into personal injury representation, following in the footsteps of her father, Joe M. Mitchell, Jr., a respected attorney with over 50 years of practice in personal injury and criminal defense.

Kelli is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Law Mediator and an active member of numerous professional organizations, including the Florida Bar, the Hillsborough County Bar Association, the Family Law Section of the HCBA, the Stann W. Givens Family Law Inn of Court, and the International Association of Collaborative Professionals. She currently serves as Co-Chair of the Hillsborough County Bar Association Collaborative Section and has held previous leadership roles within both the HCBA and The Florida Bar.

Beyond the courtroom, Kelli is committed to service. She serves on the Board of Directors for Jacob’s Touch Foundation and has been a sustaining member of the Junior League of Tampa for over 20 years. Outside of her practice, she is a lifelong equestrian and enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and two dogs.
